Biography of Fatima Braoulé MEITE

Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima Braoulé MEITE Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Canada and Permanent Representative of Mali to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima Braoulé MEITE is Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Canada and Permanent Representative of Mali to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and the University of Stony Brook in New York, Long Island (SUNY at Stony-Brook).
SEM Fatima Braoule MEITE holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and a double major: Bachelor of Business (Harriman School – Stony Brook) and Sociology.
On a professional level, the new Ambassador of Mali to Canada was Technical Adviser to the Governance Unit of the Presidency of the Republic of Mali from 2014 to 2019, Head of Mission at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (2011-2013), Municipal Councillor in Commune II of the District of Bamako. (2009-2015) and President of the Malian Network of Women Elected and Politics for Participative Democracy (REMAFEDE)
She was also a Consultant for the United Nations, the European Union and Luxembourg's cooperation in the field of human rights, the advancement of women, especially women politicians and decentralization.
As a specialist in international law and gender, she served as a Temporary Instructor (IT) at the School of Peacekeeping (EMP) Alione Blondin Beye on people with special needs in conflict situations, on basic knowledge on peacekeeping operations and conflict management: the role of local communities in post-conflict management, Consultant in the area of the Niger Office in Siengo and Molodo in the context of studies on « the social and economic role of the women of the Niger Office in the development of rice basins ». In this context, she participated in the international preparatory meetings for the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, 4-5 September 1995) in Dakar.
In the field of social affairs, Ms. MEITE was Coordinator of the Network of Speakers for Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children (RIOEV), which provided care for 3,500 children in the 8 regional capitals of Mali and the Bamako district. It has thus been able to set up an innovative system for the comprehensive care of Orphans and other Vulnerable Children (OEV) based on the decentralization of care for vulnerable groups. Finally, Ms. MEITE is the Founder and facilitator of Bamako Incubator who provides support and support to Malian start-ups.
