Biography of Mamadou Lamine Doumbia

Mamadou Lamine Doumbia holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Engineering from the Moscow Energy Institute, Russia; a Master of Applied Sciences (M.Sc.A.) in Industrial Electronics from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), Canada and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada.
Mr. Doumbia is a full professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Its teaching and research activities cover electrical energy networks, renewable energy, energy efficiency, power electronics, electrical machinery and the quality of electrical energy. From 2011 to 2020, he was Director of Master's and Doctoral Programs in Electrical Engineering. Since 2020, he has been Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.
Mr. Doumbia is a member of the Hydrogen Research Institute, the Groupe de recherche en électronique industrielle, the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and the Institute of Electrical and Electron Engineers (IEEE). He is the author of over 100 scientific publications in international conferences and journals. He is regularly invited as an external expert to evaluate articles from international journals, research grant applications and doctoral theses.
Mr. Doumbia is heavily involved in development and scientific collaboration activities and projects in Africa and Mali in particular. Since 2002, he has carried out more than 20 training or teaching missions in Mali, including at Abderhamane Baba Touré (ENI-ABT), ENETP, the Institute of Applied Sciences (ISA), Bamako University of Science, Technology and Technology (USTTB), the Development Training Centre (CFD), among others. Several of its missions were carried out under the TOKTEN (Transfer Of Knowledge Through Expat Nationals) programme.
From 2014 to 2018, Mr. Doumbia was Vice-President of the Malian Society of Applied Sciences (MSAS) and has served as President of the Society since 2018.
