Biography of Issa Coulibaly

Issa COULIBALY is a geologist engineer who holds a DEA from the Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) in Algiers.

Mr. Coulibaly has over 20 years of experience in the field of mining research and exploration and has worked as a Geologist Engineer in the Mineral Resources Development Programme, a department attached to the National Directorate of Geology and Mines of Mali where he held the position of Chief Geographic Information System Cell from 1999 to 2004.

From 2004 to 2005 Mr. Coulibaly worked as a Geologist at the Société M-Consulting and Robex before joining Burkina Faso where he served as Head of the Service of Industry and Mines at the Authority for Integrated Development of the Liptako Gourma region in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 2005 to 2007.

From 2007 to 2013, Mr. Coulibaly collaborated with several private companies in the field of mining research and exploration in Mali and Burkina Faso.

In Mali, he had to work with the Medoro Mali Society from 2007 to 2008. He was Project Leader of Birim Goldfield Mali in 2008.

From 2008 to 2010 Mr.Coulibaly worked on Gaoua porphyr cooper and also contributed to the development of the Kiaka Mining Project in Burkina Faso with the company Volta Ressources. With the Golden Rim Burkina Society, Mr. Coulibaly worked on the Rojets of Yipéli and Sebba in 2010 before joining Golden Rim Mali as Project Manager from 2010 to 2012 on projects in West and South Mali.

From 2013 to 2014, Mr. Coulibaly worked as a Geologist Engineer at the African Mining Exploration Company on West Mali concessions.

Based on this experience, Mr. Coulibaly returned to the public administration where he climbed several levels, successively occupying the post of Chief of the Exploration Service of the Program for the Development of Mineral Resources (PDRM) attached to the National Directorate of Geology and Mines from 2014 to 2017 and Director of this program from 2017 to 26 March 2019.

Since 2019, Mr. Coulibaly has been a technical adviser to the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water and National Correspondent of Mali to the Account of the Authority for Integrated Development of Liptako-Gourma States.
