REGULATION OF THE PROGRAMME OF ACCOMPANYING ENTERPRISES IN GROWTH UNDER THE PROGRAMME

The aim of the Canadian Mali-Association Chamber of Commerce is to promote bilateral trade and investment between Canada and Mali, and through accompaniment, to participate in the creation and acceleration of businesses in Canada and Mali.

Article 1 PROGRAMME NAME AND PRINCIPLE

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Mali – Association is pleased to launch its program to support and accelerate growing businesses owned by young entrepreneurs from the Malian diaspora living in Canada, ODYSSEE-TAAMA. This program aims to support the socio-economic and professional integration of the Malian diaspora through entrepreneurship and innovation in Canada. The goal of the program is for six months to offer growing businesses owned by entrepreneurs in the Malian diaspora living in Canada:

  1. Specialized training
  2. Personal coaching
  3. Privileged access to mentors from the private sector

Thus, growing companies will be selected for a first cohort of accompanying companies lasting six (06).

ARTICLE 2: PROGRAMME MECHANISMS

  1. Conditions for participation

Entitled to participate in this program are entrepreneurs of Malian origin living on Canadian territory and aged 18-35.

The company must:

  • Be in operation for at least 3 years;
  • Have more than 3 direct collaborators;
  • Have a turnover of more than CAD 15,000;
  • Be a Canadian company owned by Malians.
  1. Programme criteria

The company should preferably intervene in the following areas:

  • Digital: new information and communication technology;
  • Green energy
  • Agrobusiness
  • Yeah.

The company must have clear characters:

  • Innovation

Innovation is the main criterion of the programme. It must create and propose new products or solutions that will meet the needs of a customer. Innovation can be biological in nature, but also appear in the company's development and growth strategy.

  • Economic viability

The company must demonstrate its capacity for sustainable growth with concise and coherent financial plans. This must be reflected in the organisation of the stages: resources, talents, skills, market knowledge, risk perception, distribution channels, cost structure, revenue flows, etc.

  • Social impact

The company must be part of a logic of sustainable development, with a capacity to produce a positive social impact in a given socio-economic environment. It must focus on the programme's interest and potential in terms of job creation, ecosystem impact, etc.

  • Integrity and leadership

Entrepreneurs from selected companies will need to demonstrate an exemplary sense of integrity and leadership. This spirit must be reflected in the programme. Values, vision, sense of initiative, ability to mobilize energy are all qualities that must be implemented in order to achieve enterprise growth.

On the basis of these criteria, a jury consisting of five (5) professionals, including two (2) representatives of CCCM-Association, two (2) representatives of structures specialized in the field and one (1) mentor, all confirmed, will determine the candidates selected to participate in the first selection phase of the ODYSSEE-TAAMA programme.

ARTICLE 3: PERIOD OF COMMENDATION AND DURATION OF THE ACCOMPANY AND DECECLARATION PROGRAMME

The application must be submitted no later than 15 December 2021.

The selected companies will benefit from a first period of support and acceleration of six months.

However, CCCM-Association reserves the right to extend, shorten, modify or cancel the duration in case of force majeure or events beyond its control.

ARTICLE 4: SCHEDULE

The timetable for the support and acceleration programme is as follows:

  • 30 November 2021: Official launch of the programme;
  • 30 November 2021: Opening of applications online;
  • 15 December 2021: Closing of submissions;
  • 30 December 2021: Publication of the selections;
  • 30 December to 31 May 2022: Period for accompanying and accelerating the pre-selected;
  • 15 June 2022: Completion of the first phase of the pre-selected support and acceleration programme;
  • 30 June 2022 : Big evening of celebration of outgoing companies.

ARTICLE 5: CANDIDATURE FILE

The Application File is available on the website:https://cccanadamali.org/

Each « Application file » include:

  • The application form completed by the head of the company. This form is available on the website https://cccanadamali.org/
  • A video of up to three (3) minutes showing the company.

All elements of the application must be sent by 30 November 2021 via the website https://cccanadamali.org/

If an incomplete file is submitted, the Board reserves the right to invalidate the company's application.

Each file transmitted and validated will be acknowledged by e-mail to the company.

It should be noted that « Application files » are accessible only by the members of the jury.

The jury's deliberations are confidential.

Finally, the members of the jury are bound by the strictest professional secrecy.

The communication on the selected projects will be based on the information gathered in the « Application file », unless otherwise stated by the undertaking, excluding confidential items.

The non-confidential project note provided by the applicant company may serve as a basis for publication in the event of selection. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure that no information on intellectual property is included in the summary provided to the Canada Mali-Association Chamber of Commerce

ARTICLE 6: THE STEPS OF SELECTION

  • First phase of the ODYSSEE – TAAMA programme for SMEs

At the end of the first selection on the basis of their « Application » and related criteria, the companies selected, by a jury of five 05) people, will integrate the ODYSSEE-TAAMA programme for a period of six months.

The selected companies undertake to integrate the accompanying and accelerating programme. A contract of engagement will be submitted to them for this purpose.

A regular attendance at Coaching and Training sessions will be required for further coaching.

The non-participation in the programme, the non-follow-up of the training or the introduction of an indiscipline capable of damaging the image of CCCM-Association may constitute a disqualification of the undertaking without the possibility of returning to the programme.

  • Second phase of the ODYSSEE – TAAMA programme for SMEs

Companies that have made progress will be selected to present their improved projects at a five-minute presentation session before a jury of professionals composed of two (02) members of the CCCM-Association, two (02) members of the specialized structure and a mentor.

They will continue to accelerate for a period of six (06) months. To this end, they will follow mentoring sessions in addition to the coaching course.

In the same vein, the companies selected in the second phase undertake to follow with diligence the additional support and acceleration programme proposed to them.

The same disqualification conditions mentioned above will apply to candidates.

Presentation of enterprises

The companies selected in the second phase will be invited to present their final projects at a five-minute (05) minutes Business Plan Competition presentation session in front of a jury of confirmed professionals and whenever requested.

The final presentation panel will be composed of the same members as the second phase panel.

ARTICLE 7: BATCHES AND ACCOMPANYING

The program will:

  1. Six (06) months of support by a technical partner and several mentors;
  2. A virtual workspace;
  3. Daily online coaching sessions by experts;
  4. Weekly conferences;
  5. Access to technical platforms;
  6. A partnership with the Mali-Association Chamber of Commerce on the promotion of the company's products.

ARTICLE 8: PONCTUALITY IN PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMME ACTIVITIES

The members of the selected companies carrying out the project undertake to participate actively in the various activities to be undertaken by ODYSSEE. These include training, mentoring, coaching or other services. No unjustified absence will be tolerated and two absences from the activities could lead to the termination of the agreement. In the event of an impediment, directors (CEO) may be represented by one of their employees.

ARTICLE 9: COMPLIANCE WITH THE TIMES

The company undertakes to meet the deadlines for all deliverables (follow-up reports, company documents, services) that will be requested from it in the commitment contract or by the ODYSSEE-TAAMA Program Manager.

ARTICLE 10: ADMINISTRATIVE FRAMEWORK

The company undertakes to provide proof of the legal status of the company or start-up, the CV of its members and employees, the list of employees and its financial position, as necessary.

All companies selected for the ODYSSEE-TAAMA program will be under the responsibility of the Program Manager.

ARTICLE 12: SIGNATURE OF THE CONVENTION

An agreement will be signed between CCCM-Association and the company selected, specifying in particular the terms of reference and the activities to be carried out. The implementation mechanism of the Convention is based on the role of each signatory project promoter.

The agreement shall take effect from the date of signature by the parties and with a specified duration.

The termination of the agreement on the initiative of one of the parties may be effective only after (10) days' notice by any means leaving a written record.
