
REGULATION OF THE STARTUP PROGRAMME UNDER THE ODYSED PROGRAMME
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Mali-Association (CCCM-Association) aims to promote bilateral trade and investment between Canada and Mali, and through accompaniment, participate in the creation and acceleration of businesses in Canada and Mali.
Article 1 PROGRAMME NAME AND PRINCIPLE
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Mali – Association is pleased to launch its program to support startups from young entrepreneurs in the Malian diaspora living in Canada, ODYSSEE-TAAMA.
This program aims to support the socio-economic and professional integration of the Malian diaspora through entrepreneurship and innovation in Canada. For more information on the program, visit the following link: https://cccmassociation.com/
The purpose of the program is for six months to provide startups from Malian diaspora entrepreneurs living in Canada with incubation support to:
- Formalization of their business ideas;
- Establishment of their business models (economic model);
- Prototype development;
- Market research (with key training);
- Support for the development of business plans (with key training);
- The search for funding
Particular emphasis should be placed on innovation, the environment and gender.
ARTICLE 2: PROGRAMME MECHANISMS
- Conditions for participation
Entitled to participate in this program are entrepreneurs from Malian backgrounds living in Canada and aged 18-35.
- Programme criteria
- Have an innovative project;
- Have a project with high socio-economic impact;
- Be a team of at least 3 members.
The startup must have clear characters:
- Innovation
Innovation is the main criterion of the project. It must create and propose new products or solutions that will meet the needs of a customer. Innovation can be of a biological nature, but also appear in the development and strategy of startup.
- Economic viability
The startup must demonstrate its sustainable growth capacity with concise and coherent financial plans. This must be reflected in the organisation of the stages: resources, talents, skills, market knowledge, risk perception, distribution channels, cost structure, revenue flows, etc.
- Social impact
The startup must be part of a logic of sustainable development, with a capacity to produce a positive social impact in a given socio-economic environment.
It must focus on the interest and potential of the project in terms of job creation, ecosystem impact, etc.
- Integrity and leadership
The entrepreneurs of the selected startups will have to demonstrate an exemplary sense of integrity and leadership. This spirit must be found in the project. Values, vision, sense of initiative, ability to mobilize energies are all qualities that must be implemented to achieve the growth of the startup.
On the basis of these criteria, a jury of five (5) professionals, including two (2) representatives of CCCM-Association, two (2) representatives of structures specialized in the field and one (1) mentor, all confirmed, will determine the candidates selected to participate in the programme.
ARTICLE 3: PERIOD OF COMMENDATION AND DURATION OF THE ACCOMPANY AND DECECLARATION PROGRAMME
The application must be submitted by 15 December 2021.
The selected start-ups will benefit from a first period of accompaniment and acceleration of six months.
However, CCCM-Association reserves the right to extend, shorten, modify or cancel the duration in case of force majeure or events beyond its control.
ARTICLE 4: SCHEDULE
The timetable for the support and acceleration programme is as follows:
- 30 November 2021: Official launch of the programme;
- 30 November 2021: Opening of applications online;
- 15 December 2021: Closing of submissions;
- 30 December 2021: Publication of the selections;
- December 30, 2021 to May 31, 2022: Accompanying period
- 15 June 2022: End of support for startups;
- 30 June 2022 : Great Evening to celebrate outgoing startups.
ARTICLE 5: CANDIDATURE FILE

Each Application File will include the following:
- The application form completed by the startup manager. This form is available on the website
- A video of up to three (3) minutes presenting the startup.
All elements of the application must be sent before 15 December 2021 to the following email address: info@cccmassociation.com
In the event of incomplete file transmission, the Board reserves the right to invalidate the startup's application.
Each submitted and validated file will be acknowledged by email to the startup.
It should be noted that the Application files are accessible only by the members of the jury.
The jury's deliberations are confidential.
Finally, the members of the jury are bound by the strictest professional secrecy.
The communication on the selected projects will be carried out on the basis of the information collected in the Application File, unless otherwise stated by the startup, excluding confidential elements.
The non-confidential note of the project provided by the candidate startup may serve as a basis for publication in the event of selection. It is the candidate's responsibility to ensure that no intellectual property information is included in the summary provided to the Canada Mali-Association Chamber of Commerce.
ARTICLE 6: THE STEPS OF SELECTION
Upon completion of the selection process on the basis of their application file and the related criteria, the Start-ups will be selected by a jury of five 05) persons to join the ODYSSEE-TAAMA programme for a period of six months.
The selected startups are committed to integrating the accompanying programme. A contract of engagement will be submitted to them for this purpose.
A regular attendance at Coaching and Training sessions will be required for further coaching.
The non-participation in the programme, the non-follow-up of the training or the introduction of an act of indiscipline or which may damage the image of CCCM-Association, may constitute a disqualification of the startup without the possibility of returning to the programme.
Presentation of startups
Successful startups will be invited to present their final projects at a five-minute (05)-minute (Business Plan Competition) presentation session in front of a jury of confirmed professionals and whenever requested.
ARTICLE 7: BATCHES AND ACCOMPANYING
The program will:
- Six (06) months of support by a technical partner and several mentors;
- A virtual workspace
- Daily online coaching sessions by experts;
- Weekly conferences
- Access to technical platforms;
- A partnership with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Mali-Association on the promotion of startup products.
ARTICLE 8: PONCTUALITY IN PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMME ACTIVITIES
The members of the selected startups carrying out the project undertake to participate actively in the various activities to be undertaken by ODYSSEE-TAAMA. These include training, mentoring, coaching or other services. No unjustified absence will be tolerated and two absences from the activities could lead to the termination of the agreement. In the event of an impediment, directors (CEO) may be represented by one of their employees.
ARTICLE 9: COMPLIANCE WITH THE TIMES
The startup undertakes to meet the deadlines of all deliverables (follow-up report, start-up documents, services) that will be requested in the commitment contract or by the ODYSSEE-TAAMA Program Manager.
ARTICLE 10: ADMINISTRATIVE FRAMEWORK
The startup undertakes to provide proof of the legal status of the company, the CV of its members and its employees, the list of employees and its financial situation, as necessary.
All startups selected for the program will be under the responsibility of the ODYSSEE-TAAMA Program Manager.
ARTICLE 11: AUTHORIZATION AND CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION
By participating in this program, startups allow the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Mali-Association to use their first names and other information, as well as their images, during any public promotional activity related to the program in which they were selected.
As part of this application, CCCM-Association and project proponents undertake to comply with the applicable Canadian rules on the confidentiality of information that will be provided during program delivery.
Project promoters are committed with CCCM-Association to make podcasts on the activities of its startup that will be put on the CCCM-Association website and shared with its various partners. These videos will increase the visibility of the startup and ODYSSEE-TAAMA activities.
CCCM-Association reserves the right to verify any information contained in the response (project call) of project proponents or to request any additional information after receipt of the project. Incomplete or inappropriate answers, missing answers or incorrect statements in response to any question will affect your assessment.
ARTICLE 12: SIGNATURE OF THE CONVENTION
An agreement will be signed between CCCM-Association and the selected startup, including terms of reference and activities. The implementation mechanism of the Convention is based on the role of each signatory project promoter.
The agreement shall take effect from the date of signature by the parties and with a specified duration.
The termination of the agreement on the initiative of one of the parties may be effective only after ten (10) days' notice by any means leaving a written record.
ARTICLE 13: AMENDMENT OF THE REGULATION
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce Mali-Association reserves the right to remove, suspend or amend these Regulations as well as the organization and/or management of the accompanying and acceleration program, without any right of compensation and without the obligation to give notice, such amendments being brought to the attention of the public and inserted in these Regulations by an additional act.
ARTICLE 14: RULES OF LITIGES. SKILL. APPLICABLE LAW
Any dispute arising from the interpretation or application of this Regulation or the draft shall be settled amicably.In the absence of agreement between the Parties, it shall be submitted to the competent courts.Applicable law is Canadian law, excluding any other legislation
